Cerazette is intended for women who can’t take oestrogen and still want to be fully protected from pregnancy. The Cerazette oral contraceptive mini pill is a progestogen-only pill (POP), which doesn't contain an oestrogen. They contain a small amount of one type of female sex hormone, the progestogen desogestrel, which acts to prevent pregnancy in the same way as combination contraceptive pills by overriding the menstrual cycle.
You can continue using Cerazette to prevent pregnancy by placing a discreet order at Meds4all today. You will be asked to complete a medical consultation, which will be checked by one of our EU registered doctors. If our doctor feels you are suitable to use Cerazette, the medication will be dispatched from our pharmacy to your chosen delivery address within 24 hours. A same-day delivery option is available for patients within the M25.
The synthetic hormone used in Cerazette is desogestrel, which works by preventing the release of an egg from the ovary. It also increases the thickness of the natural mucus at the neck of the womb making it more difficult for sperm to enter the womb from the vagina. Desogestrel also acts to alter the quality of the womb lining to inhibit the development of an egg in the womb.
Cerazette is better tolerated by older women, those who smoke, and women who are allergic to ingredients used in combination pills. As with many contraceptive pills there is a slight risk of side effects when using Cerazette birth control pills.
Side effects that may affect 1 in 10 women include: mood changes, decreased libido, headache, nausea, acne, breast pain, irregular periods and possible weight gain. Uncommon side effects, affecting less than 1 in 100 women, include: hair loss, painful periods, ovarian cysts, infection of the vagina and difficulties in wearing contact lenses.
You should not take the pill if you have: a thrombosis; severe liver disease; if you have unsuspected vaginal bleeding; or if you are suspected of having a cancer that grows under the influence of sex-steroids, such as certain types of breast cancer.
Use Cerazette with caution if you are epileptic, have diabetes, or suffer from any types of cancer. The Cerazette birth control pill is ineffective if used when you are already pregnant.
The mini pill is used by thousands of sexually active women in the UK as a last line of defence. Cerazette carries a 98% success rate making it about as effective as the coil (IUD).
The following instructions are intended for women who are using Cerazette for the first time.
Take your first pill on the first day of your period – this will offer you protection from pregnancy straight away. Please be aware that if you take Cerazette on days 2–5 of your period, you will need to use an additional barrier method for the first 7 days.
Continue to take one pill at around the same time each day. Please be aware that if you miss taking a pill, or take your pill more than 12 hours late, then you may not be protected against pregnancy.
When you finish a strip in the blister pack, start your next strip straight away. Unlike combined contraceptive pills, there is no pill-free week each month.
With Meds4all you can order Cerazette contraceptive pills any time of day. We work with only EU registered doctors who prescribe genuine branded Cerazette birth control pills. Our efficient order process ensures if one of our doctors approves your consultation the medication will be dispatched from our trusted pharmacy the very same day. The entire process is treated with total discretion and may take as little as 24 hours from order time to delivery.
